Hello! I'm Ricardo, and my interest in watches goes back to childhood.
My father had Swiss watches, Seikos and others, and they left a strong impression on me. I remember being fascinated by watches from an early age. Later came Casio calculator watches, G-Shocks and all the different things that could somehow be fitted onto a wrist.
That fascination never really disappeared. If anything, it has grown.
Over the years I've discovered more about traditional Swiss watches and developed a particular appreciation for the ingenuity of mechanical movements. But I also enjoy what modern watches can do. I appreciate a lightweight titanium watch, a well-made quartz watch, a useful digital Casio and even a smartwatch that can guide me with Google Maps when I'm travelling.
That's really the idea behind All Kinds of Watches. I don't believe a watch has to be expensive, mechanical or prestigious to be interesting. Each watch deserves to be considered individually — for its design, engineering, history, usefulness or simply the enjoyment it brings.
Many of the watches offered here come from my own collection. I wear them, observe them and get to know them. When a watch keeps good time and makes me happy, I'm happy to eventually pass it along for someone else to enjoy.
And I keep discovering watches — then more watches.
Of course, not every watch I find is a good runner. When something isn't working properly, I prefer to describe it honestly and offer it as a project, for repair, or for parts and spares. There's often still something useful or interesting there for the right person.
For me, watches are both beautiful objects and practical companions. They can be pieces of remarkable engineering, reminders of another time, tools that keep us punctual, or simply something we enjoy putting on our wrist.
All Kinds of Watches is my way of continuing that childhood fascination — discovering watches, enjoying them, learning from them and passing them along to the people who will appreciate them next.
