Together with the subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock and decades of natural patina, it gives this watch a particularly distinctive appearance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe watch is powered by an Oris Calibre 461, 15-jewel Swiss manual-winding mechanical movement. The movement is signed 15 Jewels \/ Swiss Made \/ Cal. 461.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe inside of the case back is correctly signed ORIS WATCH CO. SWISS and also carries several hand-engraved watchmaker markings accumulated during its long life. I have deliberately photographed these because they form an interesting part of the watch's history.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe gold-tone case shows substantial genuine age-related wear, scratches and loss of plating, while the dial displays spotting, discolouration and patina, particularly around its outer edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eNothing has been polished or disguised for the photographs. Please study the detailed close-up images carefully.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDespite its wonderfully aged appearance, the watch is working very well, winding correctly and running strongly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eIt is fitted with a brown leather strap with contrasting stitching, which complements the aged gold-tone case particularly well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis is not a restored vintage watch and is not being presented as one. Its appeal is precisely its honest, heavily patinated condition and distinctive star-and-number dial — approximately three-quarters of a century of visible history preserved rather than erased.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eAs with any vintage mechanical watch of this age, modern quartz accuracy and water resistance should not be expected.
